NAZIRAH AHMAD
Senior Communications Associate

Nazirah Ahmad graduated summa cum laude from Howard University with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic, Legal, Management Communications and a minor in Community Development. 

During her time at Howard, Nazirah served as a leader for numerous organizations including Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Alpha Chapter and Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Psi Tau Chapter. Her interest in public relations and educational equity led her to intern at institutions including the Institute for Educational Leadership, Youth Marketing, Breakthrough Collaborative, Uncommon Schools, and Finsbury Glover Hering (FGH). There she gained experience in executing PR strategies, developing social media campaigns, and drafting copy for a variety of audiences. One of her most fulfilling moments was assisting the prosecution in Derek Chauvin’s trial for the murder of George Floyd at FGH.

Prior to joining EMC Communications, Nazirah worked with AmeriCorps as a full time educator in Newark, New Jersey. As an advocate for educational equity, she is fascinated by public relations and community relations, and is committed to championing educational equity in all she does.
